Here's a picture of me taken at the FINA world Swimming Championships while I was helping a colleague test out her underwater camera. I was also just taking a lunch time stretch and man did it feel good. Pardon the bump. It's almost been 7months since I lost weight.
It's been a while since i've been able to post anything on my blog.. well, i've been really caught up with work and it's been a hellofaaride since early this year for me.
It's all turning out good though it took me a while to come to terms with certain decisions albeit life changing.
Anyway let's see... i've been on standby for work for 6 different assignments since the beginning of the year.. Some happened, some didn't.. Well at least I was on standby.
The biggest assignment I had to give up was coverage as a general shooter for the Rugby World Cup in New Zealand later this year. That would have been a 2 month assignment (read : holiday) as a general shooter, meaning I would get to cover different games in the different parts of the north islands, driving around NZ, soaking in all that rugby glory and energy from every city...
I guess there's always another world cup and rugby will always be around.
I also just got back from the Shanghai FINA World Swimming Championships which took place over the past 3 weeks...
I got to shoot Phelps NOT win every medal which was kinda cool and also swim in the world championship pool.
Yeah so i guess you can say that I swam at the world championships.. pa dum pum.
We're more settled into our new place and things are slowly taking shape.
Speaking of shape, mine's changing big time.
I'm putting on more of a shape now well, you see I am with child and am due end Oct or early Nov.
Some of you may be scratching your heads as to why this could even be a dilemma of any sort to be in.. but you see when someone like me has made up my mind and set my mind on a certain task, (at this point it was work... to focus on work and match up to last year's brilliant year), it can be really stressful when life throws you a curve ball. Not that i'm not thankful for all the blessings i've received but it was just a little shocking... okaaay.. a real big downer. And no offense to those who are ever so willing to put work aside for family but you see, my job is not a job. It is my passion. So I was pretty shell shocked and disappointed AT FIRST when I realised that I had to re-configure and re-boot my system to cater to a new addition in my life. So yeah, that's pretty much the deciding factor where work kinda has to take a back seat later on in the year and rugby has to wait.
Things are much better and I got through the letting go of early plans and life's goals eventually which in actuality just needed some tweaking and actually am very excited about what's to come. I guess you can say that in summary i've been really blessed as always by the big guy up there.
I made it through 3weeks of Shanghai safe and strong, no major hiccups at work, uneventful pregnancy so far, Nate's being a real sweety about things and Terence is enjoying his new journey in his career.
Just when I thought the year couldn't get any more life changing, I realised that it's all just getting started.
Second time round pregnant, it's not any easier contrary to what people think.
You've aged more and get tired more easily and you have your firstborn to worry about.
You also tend to be a little less gung-ho about things but at the same time, you worry a little less about the things that don't really matter.
So if you see me walking i mean waddling down the street, do say hi and ask me how's work been because i'll be able to answer you with a straight face, probably with a smile that it's all good. (:
